Everybody, Everywear: Lace and Oxfords

This month for Everybody, Everywear bloggers everywhere are wearing lace. After the voting ended, an lace was announced the winner I automatically started thinking about what lace items I had in my closet. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any lace or lace accented pieces. I guess I did have a camisole or two that have a small amount of lace trim on the neckline. In my opinion that didn’t actually count. I didn’t even have any cute lace wrapped accessories. What I did have is a lace nightie. Insert giggles, snickers, or blushing. I immediately began brainstorming on ways I could make it appropriate to wear out.I lucked out and had a nice, cool day last week. I’m talking thunderstorms the night before and only reaching 65. I was ecstatic! That meant I could layer a bandeau under and a cardigan on top. That meant I could be completely covered, yet still show off my lace.

I took advantage of the beautiful weather, and my free time by going to the park and taking pictures on the bike path. I’ve taken pictures outside before, but it isn’t nearly as nerve wracking when your husband is taking your pictures. This was my first go around with outdoor self-portraiture. I lucked out and nobody went by on the path. I just had to deal with a construction worker gawking at me from the parking lot. I hope to do this more often, now that I am home with Lyla during the day. I guess I should start reading up on Hello Monkey Face’s Self-Caught Feature. I didn’t have any issues with other passer-bys until I moved up to take accessory shots. The Scoop

How do you deal with curious onlookers? Any outdoor self-portraiture tips?

Spring Cleaning

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know that I did. Saturday morning Nate was working on the truck, and Lyla was spending the night with Grammy. I took the opportunity to do some much needed cleaning around the house. The moving things around and cleaning turned into deep spring cleaning. Yikes, that was exhausting! However, it was also very rewarding to get so much done. I still have four more rooms to deep clean, and the basement. Yet another day’s to do list. What did you do? Have you been spring cleaning?

I owe you an apology

On Monday I told you that I would be blogging Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Unfortunately, Tuesdays are crazy busy for me so I didn’t get a post pre-published. Yesterday was just a day for the record book. It was my long day at work, and it proved to feel like a long day too. I ran to the daycare to pick up my daughter’s dirty cloth diapers. I wanted to get a load started before I leave the house for the rest of the day. When I got home I had a horrible headache, so I decided to lay down for a moment. Unfortunately, I also forgot that since it was my long day at work I didn’t really have the time to lay down before I was supposed to pick up my husband from work. OOPS!!! I looked at the clock the same time I should have been pulling up to pick him up.

Luckily, today is much better!!!

Happy 2nd Day of Spring!

>

I’ve told you before that I’ve finished my 30 for 30 challenge, and had planned on finishing posting my pictures. With my unplanned break I fell very far behind in posting them. Now with the changing weather I just didn’t feel up to posting winter outfits when I’m busy enjoying spring weather and fashions. I do have a couple of outfits that I wore during the challenge on warm days that I will most likely post, but other than that I will be more up to date. Now if only I can get myself back into the swing of regular picture taking.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

>

A day of the year when every body is a wee bit Irish. There are 3.8 million people in Ireland, and many more that can count themselves as part Irish.
St. Patrick’s day is not an official American holiday, but it is celebrated with lots of parades, events, green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and soda bread throughout the country (and world I’m sure). If I could choose to celebrate anywhere I would choose Chicago. Love the Irish American pride, and the green river. What will you be doing this year?

I love these boots

>

I absolutely love these boots. They are so comfy. I’m honestly a little disappointed that it is getting warmer, and I will have to put these babies away till fall. They allowed me to wear tights, wool socks, jeans, skirts, or whatever I could stuff in there to stay warm. Can’t go wrong with that.

Come summer and it is hot and humid out what can yourself comfortable in the elements? You can only take so much off.

30 for 30: Monday, Monday

>

Oh, boy this weekend should have been relaxing and it spun downhill fairly quick. Wednesday, I spent most of the night being woken up every time I was almost asleep by the husband jerking in pain. Thursday night was much of the same, except, add him vomiting and me cleaning it up. Friday he woke up ridiculously early, and told me he wasn’t going to work. Fast forward to after work I found out he has strep on top of his back problems. Now I’m heading into a weekend taking care of Nate and his problems, Lyla and her broken arm, and working. I know you must be jealous.
