Everybody, Everywear: Lace and Oxfords

This month for Everybody, Everywear bloggers everywhere are wearing lace. After the voting ended, an lace was announced the winner I automatically started thinking about what lace items I had in my closet. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any lace or lace accented pieces. I guess I did have a camisole or two that have a small amount of lace trim on the neckline. In my opinion that didn’t actually count. I didn’t even have any cute lace wrapped accessories. What I did have is a lace nightie. Insert giggles, snickers, or blushing. I immediately began brainstorming on ways I could make it appropriate to wear out.I lucked out and had a nice, cool day last week. I’m talking thunderstorms the night before and only reaching 65. I was ecstatic! That meant I could layer a bandeau under and a cardigan on top. That meant I could be completely covered, yet still show off my lace.

I took advantage of the beautiful weather, and my free time by going to the park and taking pictures on the bike path. I’ve taken pictures outside before, but it isn’t nearly as nerve wracking when your husband is taking your pictures. This was my first go around with outdoor self-portraiture. I lucked out and nobody went by on the path. I just had to deal with a construction worker gawking at me from the parking lot. I hope to do this more often, now that I am home with Lyla during the day. I guess I should start reading up on Hello Monkey Face’s Self-Caught Feature. I didn’t have any issues with other passer-bys until I moved up to take accessory shots. The Scoop

How do you deal with curious onlookers? Any outdoor self-portraiture tips?

Since I’ve been gone

Image

Two weeks ago we were house sitting for my in-laws while they were in California. They got back Tuesday of last week, but I wasn’t a prepared blogger and didn’t have my camera or laptop with me to blog. I couldn’t even properly set up posts in advance. That left me with another two weeks as a bad blogger.

Good news is I only have another  two weeks I’ll be done working my day job. Fingers crossed, but I hope that means I’ll be able to do so many things that I want to do. I have a rather long to do list for cleaning my house. I also hope to do more blogging/reading/commenting. I’ve got high hopes, but I’m not holding myself to anything set in stone. I’m still pregnant and tired, and never know what is going to happen.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

>

A day of the year when every body is a wee bit Irish. There are 3.8 million people in Ireland, and many more that can count themselves as part Irish.
St. Patrick’s day is not an official American holiday, but it is celebrated with lots of parades, events, green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and soda bread throughout the country (and world I’m sure). If I could choose to celebrate anywhere I would choose Chicago. Love the Irish American pride, and the green river. What will you be doing this year?

Lost

>

Ack!!! I’m still putting together posts from my 30 for 30 challenge. However, I lost a few sets of pictures. That means you won’t be getting a full 30 outfits. That’s ok with me…I’m kind of over documenting this challenge. I finished it over a month ago, so the fact that I’m still posting pictures just drags it on and on. However, since I took a break from blogging I also took a break from taking pictures too. Now it is hard getting back into the swing of things. I will promise you that I won’t still be posting my winter wardrobe once spring officially arrives.

Yep, I went back to my redheaded roots. That is not to be confused with the twitter handle of another fabulous redhead at Miss Vinyl Ahoy. Actually, there a quite a few bloggers out there rocking the red. Pixie in Pumps, By Hillary,
A Reason to be Fabulous, Stylish White Female, My Heart Blogged…just to name a few!
I forgot that I was wearing head to toe Target, minus my handmade cowl, until I was editing pictures. I think that should be rewarded with a gift card right?!?!

30 for 30: It’s a Wrap

Let me say this now, and just get it out of the way, I love this wrap! It is like wearing a sweatshirt, but so much better! Now that I got that off my chest (Which stayed nice and warm because of said wrap.) What are some of your favorite, yet stylish, was to stay warm?
