>30 for 30: Stripes and Flowers

>

I’m getting the hang of this patten mixing thing. Aren’t you proud of me ladies? It started when I mixed stripes and bows. Than I subconsciously
mixed floral with the abstract. What are your favorite patterns to mix together?

>30 for 30: Happy Valentine’s Day

>

Since, you know I try to be honest with you. Remember yesterday’s post? I’m going to let you in on a secret. This is not in fact what I’m wearing for a wonderful V-Day date with my husband. I did, however, wear this when we went out for dinner a week or so ago.
I don’t actually know what we will be doing for the big day. In the six years we have been together, this is only the second year we will actually spend time together. It just isn’t much of a big deal for us. February 20th is usually a little more exciting for us, as it is our “dating” anniversary. This year I haven’t even gotten Nate anything, but he will probably get to pick what is for dinner. I have been informed that I have three pairs of We Love Colors polka dot tights  heading my way for the big occasion.

>30 for 30: Skinny Cargo Pants

>

I didn’t jump on the skinny band wagon train at the start. I put a pair in my cart more than once, but never made the purchase. Before I started the 30 for 30 challenge, I found a pair in the girl’s department at Target. My only issue with them is the buttons on the adjustable waist hit right at my hip bones. Other than that I’m pretty happy with them. Much cheaper than my previous options.
Also, the shirt pictured isn’t the shirt I wore. I wore my 30 for 30 black shirt, but when I went to get dressed for the pictures and my shirt was in the laundry. What a wonderful husband I have that started the load, but now I am fudging my ootd pics. I hope you don’t un-follow me for this.

This weeks Every Man, Woman, and Child is a little different. It is my 30 for 30 outfit, and my Grandma’s Birthday party all rolled into one. I took a lot of pictures at the party testing out a few different settings on my camera too.

>Friend Friday: Well Color Me Pink

>

Katy of ModlyChic gave us a fun set of questions for this weeks Friend Friday. We are talking about color, and how we incorporate (or don’t for some) it into our wardrobes.  This week is also exciting, because,

We Love Colors is sponsoring it. A few of the bloggers were sent a pair of tights to try out, style, and fall in love with. Expect to see lots of color in everyones answers this week.

1. What color dominates your closet?
Blue is my favorite color, but after a mandate from the Mr. I began purchasing different colors. Surprisingly, purple became my replacement blue. At the moment I think I have a decent mix of colors.

2. If money weren’t an issue how would you change the color emphasis in your closet?
Honestly, I’m pretty happy with the color variations of my wardrobe. In the spirit of dreaming, I guess I would use my money to continue to add fun and interesting colors. Maybe some harder to work with shades. I hear neon bright colors are going to big this summer.
Ooh!!!! Shoes!!!! I change my answer. I would buy shoes in every color. I love colorful shoes!

3. What is your mantra about mixing color?
I don’t think I really have a mantra. I guess I try it out, and if I don’t like it I change. However, if you want to quote me on something I’ll go with, “If it is in the rainbow, it can be worn together.”
4. For you, how do you incorporate color into your outfits?
I try and wear at least one colored piece with every outfit. I grew up wearing a lot of black for ballet, so touches of color are more fun for me. It is a means of expression, instead of conforming to a dress code.

I also wear a lot of colored tights. Which after testing out these WLC babies I’ve found a new love. They are soft, warm, and durable. What more can you ask for from tights*?

5. Which blogger(s) do you think do a good job of incorporating color into their wardrobe?
I know I’m not the only one that will mention this lady, but Suze of Miss Vinyl Ahoy is a color mixing queen. I also think Franca of Oranges and Apples mixes colors together quite well. I really like Chelsea of Three Birds, but maybe it is more the bright wall she photographs in front of that always screams “color” to me.
*I wasn’t paid for a review of these tights. What I said is what I really think about them. We Love Colors is not a sponsor of NGF. However, I would love to work with them. Maybe do a giveaway!

>30 for 30: I guess this makes me a Mod Mom

>

I felt very mod in this dress. I also matched the carpeting at my store. If you follow me on Twitter, you got to see the picture. (See! It pays to be a follower!) I was a bit cold, but the scarf took a bit of the edge off. Plus, I had a busy day at work. All the running around kept me warm.

>30 for 30: I’m a prepster

>

Prepster or sweater person according to Nate. I was a pattern mixer today as well. I’m getting better at this stuff. Be proud Style Nation!
Now I’m going to take a Style Underdog moment and pop my collar while planning how I will rule the carpool when The Bean finally enters Kindergarten.
