This week, Katy of ModlyChic and the rest of the bloggers of the Friend Friday Group are talking about our top five summer trends.
1. Neon Color Blocking
Color blocking is big this year. What is an even better way to do it? Neon of course!
2. Chic Cycling
I’m really interested in getting a should be summer staple. Yes, I mean a bike. Hey, if my two year old daughter can have a pretty pink and purple bike why can’t I have two wheels on a pretty frame of my own. One of my favorite chic cyclist is Tania of What Would a Nerd Wear. As she puts it herself, she is a “bike-riding bookworm”. She has some pretty cycling friendly outfits of her own, as well as a sweet ride.
3. Wavy Beach Hair
I recently did a tutorial on my easy to-do beach hair. I love how carefree beach hair looks. Simple, relaxed, and laid back all things that scream summer to me.
4. Shorts and Wedges
When I Googled shorts and wedges, it came up with a Yahoo answer’s question about whether or not wearing shorts and wedges was slutty. In my opinion it is not slutty unless you make it that way. I will be wearing this trend with not too short shorts, and looser shirts. I love this trend, because, it makes your legs look miles long.
5. Summer Drinks
I know summer drinks isn’t quite a trend, but this summer they will be one of my go to “accessories” for making it through this heat. That makes it an accessory right?
What are your top summer tips, tricks, and trends?
You must wear maternity clothes as soon as you can’t button your jeans.
I went shopping a few weekends ago. I was looking for shorts that I could wear this summer during this pregnancy. I started off looking at the maternity section, because, well it’s obvious I’m pregnant and will be all summer. However, I was really unhappy with any of my options. They all fit horribly, and I wasn’t going to sacrifice being comfortable in them for a chance to cool off.
I decided to play all my cards and try out the juniors department. I found several pairs I liked including a pair of fun salmon colored shorts. Sadly, they didn’t have a pair in my new size. I did find a pair that sits low enough to be worn under my baby belly. With my Bella Band, they should fit during the hottest parts of the summer based on my last pregnancy.
What do you think? Should pregnant women be restricted to elastic waist bands, and floaty, shapeless shirts? I think not, and hope to prove how wrong those ideas are this summer. I would love to have you along for the journey.

This week on What They Wore Wednesday I’m featuring a few bloggers that have worn ruffled necklines recently. I love how this looks, and for someone like me who doesn’t always wear a lot of jewelry I think it is a great way to add some pretty details.
First up, I have Melanie of Unravelled Threads wearing a beautiful plum colored blouse from New York and Co. I really like the bold neckline, but I wonder how itchy it may be in the summer heat.Next up, is Ashley of Ashley Getting Dressed wearing a Forever 21 dress with a dainty, ruffled neckline.
What do you think about ruffled necklines? Do you have any pieces like that in your closet? What size ruffle do you prefer?
I thought this dress looked very baby doll to me while I was wearing it. While editing the pictures I found a few shots that reminded me more of Barbie. What do you think? It is a bit shorter than I would have liked, but with it being so hot out I just put on a pair of dance shorts underneath it.
The week of craziness is well under way. Dance recital is four days away. I can’t wait! I’m so proud of all of my students. They have learned so much this year, and I’ve had so much fun working with them. I must give a special shout out to my Adult Tap Class. I know a few of them read my blog, so I just want to say I’m incredibly impressed with them. I know you they will rock the stage, and make me proud.
Guess what people?!?! I’m now officially a part-time stay at home mom. I’m still working at the studio in the afternoon/evenings, but during the day Lyla and I get to stay home and enjoy each other’s company. This week, however, it is just me at home. As I mentioned before the studio’s big dance recital is this Saturday. I’m keeping Lyla in daycare part time this week, so I can get things finished up and make all of the final rehearsals.
Next week the real tough stuff starts. Adjusting to our new schedule together, and finding ways to keep everybody happy. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.

P.S. I’ve got a doctors appointment today that should let me know what is swimming around inside of me. Boy or Girl? Any guesses?
There is not a better way to relax than to get a manicure or pedicure. I’ve always had a bit of an obsession with nail polish. I recently went through all of my polishes, and entered them into a Google Docs spreadsheet. I realized there are a lot of them that I haven’t worn in a long time. I decided to challenge myself to wear each and everyone of them*. I’m also documenting my opinion of them on the spreadsheet. I thought it might be kind of fun to share that with you too.
This week I’m sharing pictures of Sinful Colors- Secret Admirer. Sinful Colors is a cheap polish you can pick up at Walgreens. However, it is really good quality product for the price.
This color has a silver glitter in it too. Sadly, you can’t see that in this picture. I really liked that it wasn’t just another vampy, black polish. The glitter made it fun. It was opaque with only two coats, and lasted almost an entire week without any additional coats of color or topcoat. Sorry these pictures aren’t the best I have a few weeks worth on my phone before I decided I wanted to do this on the blog too. I promise they will get better.

I planned on writing up a post for this weeks Friend Friday. However, I can’t answer any of the questions very well. I won’t be enjoying any summer vacathttps://noguiltfashion.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpions this year. Instead I thought I would share my “Beach Hair” with you. I recently got a 3-barrel iron for something else to do with my hair while it is growing out. Last week, when we were talking about hair care I shared that I use Moroccan Oil as a heat protector for the occasional times I do use hot tools. I also, love how Moroccan Oil makes my hair feel even when I don’t style it.
You can start one of two ways.
Option 1: Start with clean damp hair. Apply a small amount of Moroccan Oil and comb through.
Finger dry hair with a blow dryer on low. If you have a diffuser that is even better.
Option 2: The same as option 1 apply a small amount of oil. It is OK to use the oil on dry hair. It is very lite and doesn’t leave your hair with a greasy feel.
Pretty sexy huh?
Step 2: Section off your hair, and take two inches pieces and begin using the iron from the top of each section. Work your way down each section.
Step 3: After finishing all of the sections I use a dusting powder to the roots at the crown of my head. Be careful, because, a little goes a long way. Also, if you use too much it will whiten your roots. After rubbing it in I lift and tease the hair at the crown.
Step 4: Finish with your favorite hairspray!
Voila! Beach Hair!
